Dimensions
no_moon.jar adds several hidden dimensions to the game, each with their own unique properties and means of access. Some you stumble into by accident, some hold fragments of lore, and a select few are critical to progressing through the mod's story.
Accidental Dimensions
These dimensions are not accessed intentionally. Players are transported here through death, random chance, or interaction with specific blocks. None of them appear to hold significant progression value.
Alone Forever
AccidentalA very small chance to get sent here after being killed by the Alone. The dimension is made entirely out of "placeholder blocks" and has the "Alone Sign" structures scattered across its landscape. Upon arrival, the player's camera locks to random angles constantly, accompanied by Alone screams. You leave automatically after some time.
Bedrock
AccidentalSmall chance to appear here after dying. The dimension mimics your overworld's terrain but is made entirely out of the "not bedrock" block. It's dark, and does not seem to have a purpose. No structures, creatures, or exclusive content can be found here. You leave automatically after a few minutes.
Lost (lost_forever)
AccidentalYou end up here after touching an error_cobblestone block. Upon entering this dimension you will be granted the "you feel the same way..." achievement. The dimension is made entirely out of cobblestone on the surface and mossy cobblestone beneath. You automatically leave after a random amount of time varying between less than a minute to a few minutes. There seems to be nothing too interesting here.
Lore Dimensions
These dimensions appear to exist primarily as vessels for storytelling. Scattered throughout them are fragments of narrative, cryptic messages, and environmental details that hint at the events that transpired before the player's arrival.
The Lab
LoreThe Lab is a dimension that looks similar to the overworld, except there's a lab structure close to where the player spawns. Going into this lab gives some insight into lore and events that might have transpired before the player was actually here. Players can get teleported to this dimension in a random event that is quite rare.
A big void. The player spawns at the bottom of a staircase which they can walk up. On the top there's a sign with some hex code that translates to "I'm a monster". Leaving the dimension with the exit block provided at the top of the staircase will teleport the player back to the overworld and prompts the message "message[nothing_left]", implying this is once again unfinished content.
Progression Dimensions
These dimensions are directly tied to the mod's progression. Accessing them and completing their objectives advances the story forward.
The Core (Core_77)
ProgressionAccessed by building an altar per Billy's instructions, this dimension is the true end-game arena. Composed of deep blue pulsing blocks with massive spinning Core Shards, your objective is to destroy these shards and defeat The Void in an epic confrontation accompanied by "Agonizing Freedom."
For detailed information on accessing and progressing through Core_77, see the Progression page.
Computer (biome: "file")
Progression WIPBetter known by its biome name, "file", this is the dimension you get sent to after touching a glitch block encountered at least 10,000 blocks away from your world's origin. It consists of a big, black void and one platform with two enclosed "huts" on it.
You spawn in the first hut, where there's a few signs, a "the_system" block, and an "error" block. The most prominent sign reads: "i've been stuck here for so long".
Upon entering the other enclosed hut, the player can find a computer where they can input a code. Upon entering the code correctly, they will be transported to the Finale dimension.
Finale
Progression WIPThis is the final bossfight arena of the game. Here the great mastermind would be fought, if he was fully implemented. He's deliberately left out as he is unfinished. If you somehow ended up here, the only way out is to die or through commands.
