Getting Started

The no_moon.jar mod is a horror mod that slowly corrupts your world and slowly turns everything chaotic. The moon will slowly start to disappear and chaos will come. Entities will start spawning and this mod will have you on the edge of your seat, as they wait for the perfect time to strike.

Frequently asked questions

The mod crashes on launch, how do I fix this?

Get Geckolib. If it still shows another error, try updating all the stuff (your Forge/NeoForge versions, mods). If the issue still persists, add the image of the error or the crash log file.

How do I play the mod on phone/Is there an official bedrock port?

There won't be any official bedrock port of no_moon.jar. If your phone is good enough, however, you can try Pojav Launcher or one of it's many forks.

Can I make a bedrock port?

No. Unless you got permission from Wentworth himself.

How do I turn off crashing/banning/etc.?

If you head to the config menu, there's an option to disable crashing and similar mechanics there.

How do I configure the mod?

Using the configured mod on CurseForge, or manually download configured when using another launcher. creen, click on 'Mods', find no_moon and click on it, and click on the 'Config' button.

Alternatively, you can manually edit the config file using any text editor. This config file is located in you modpack's 'config' folder.

Who is [insert entity name]?

Check the Entities page.

My friend keeps getting timed/kicked out and we are using Essential

Essential sometimes gets picky, but also depends on the internet, distance between the host and the one who's joining or the PC someone has, I don't really have any other and better explanation. Similar results are yielded with E4MC.

Can I somehow remove The Fog?

Yes, there's a mod in the no_moon.jar discord that disables the fog (1.20.1 only though)

Can I somehow remove the Lesser Souls?

Yes, there's also a mod for that in the no_moon.jar discord (also 1.20.1 only)

I see no structures

The structures appear around the player overtime, I suggest finding a plains biome and live/wait there. Also friendly reminder to check the config.

Is the moon supposed to be gone?

If you are playing the NeoForge version of the mod, it's visually broken. Still functions correctly, so watch out. If you are playing the Forge version of the mod, yes. Just wait until it comes back...

Is the sun supposed to be gone?

Yes, if you're stuck on what to do, just ask Nothing_Left "what do I do'.

Are the hostile/passive mobs supposed to be gone?

Yes, they'll come back after a while.

How do I spawn Billy?

He'll appear on his own once you progress far enough and wait a while.

How long does 'wait for its arrival' last?

Around 15 in-game days.

Why doesn't Nothing_Left respond?

Usually, because another entity can reply to you. Wait until you see Nothing_Left send a message. If you see a "chat error" message, he's just mad at you. Rejoin to fix.

Can I somehow become a playtester?

No. We do not trust everyone we see, and we will not go "oh yeah sure here's your playtester role and enjoy your day uwu". If Wentworth trusts you enough, however, he may give you the role.

What day is the core full?

Somewhere around day 20 without using any skips.

What do i do with the altar

Place it somewhere near/in your base; it prevents the corruption from spreading. Its range is 350 blocks, so one is pretty much enough.

What is sanity and how do I make it go lower/higher?

Sanity is a variable that responds to some entity spawning (Dark Shadows or The Hive Mind, for example). If a certain thing has "made its arrival" and it's nighttime, the variable will be able to change. If you're standing outside with no blocks above yourself, your sanity will start to degrade. If you're standing above a block, however, it will go to normal.

I placed my altar, but it disappeared?

If you placed it underground, under an overpass or similar, it will teleport to the highest point, so probably on the surface somewhere. The radius of 350 block should still be enough to keep your base clear from the corruption though.

The Command block structure isnt there when i'm at the coordinates

Double check if they're negative or not (eg, Nothing_Left told you to go to -1500.0 Y 1750.0, you should be at -1500.0 Y 1750.0 and not 1500.0 Y -1750.0.) If you still can't find it, then just place it yourself in creative or via commands.

I asked nothing_left what do I do in the core dimension and he told me to go to 0 0 0.

Your main task in the core dimension is to destroy a core shard and kill The Void; you don't need to ask nothing_left what to do.

I quit the world right after The Void spawned to despawn him, what do i do?

Why would you do that? It's a required bossfight. Unfortunately, your world is now softlocked. For your sanity, please don't do that again.

How do i get the music disc?

They have a 10% chance to drop from The Void.
